Can any person take out a loan at EasyPay? What do I need to apply for a loan if I'm using 3rd party bank account"?

Anyone can apply for an Easypay loan with EasyPay Financial Services. EasyPay Financial Services, a registered Financial Services and Credit Provider.

In order to apply for an EasyPay Loan the following conditions apply:

  1. You must be an EasyPay Everywhere accountholder.
  2. Your income/grant must have been paid into your EasyPay Everywhere account over a minimum of three consecutive months: and
  3. You must pass the affordability requirements to qualify for a loan.
  4. Alternatively, if you are not an EasyPay Everywhere accountholder, please visit your nearest EasyPay Everywhere branch to apply for a one-month loan.

To apply for a one-month loan, you will need the following documentation:

  • Your ID document (a valid temporary ID).
  • Your mobile phone.
  • Proof of address, not older than three months.
  • Payslip (proof of income).

If you have a registered contact number on your account, please dial the USSD string *120*3737*7# to apply for an EasyPay Loan. If not, alternatively you will have to go into an EasyPay Everywhere branch. Kindly bring your ID document, cell phone and a proof of address no longer than 3 months old.

An affordability study needs to be done to check if you can be issued with a loan or not.

In order to apply for an EasyPay Loan the following conditions apply:

  • You must be an EasyPay Everywhere accountholder.
  • Your income/grant must have been paid into your EasyPay Everywhere account over a minimum of three consecutive months: and
  • You must pass the affordability requirements to qualify for a loan.

Alternatively, if you are not an EasyPay Everywhere accountholder, please visit your nearest EasyPay Everywhere branch to apply for a one-month loan.

To apply for a one-month loan, you will need the following documentation:

  • Your ID document (a valid temporary ID)
  • Your mobile phone
  • Proof of address, not older than three months.
  • Consistency in income must be proven providing us with a 3-months bank statement; this can be done with a combination of our EasyPay Everywhere account statement (if you have formally migrated) & the former bank.
  • In the absence of these, we can use the Letter of Grant Approval from SASSA.
  • We should only require the SASSA Bank Confirmation if the customer has not had a grant deposit into their account.
  • If we have seen a grant deposit into our account, we do not need this document.
  • We can approve without the photo but we will drive it as part of the culture as it supports us in the event of a complaint.

There are various reasons why you could have been declined from taking out a loan. The reason for the decline will either be printed on the slip which was printed during the application process if you applied for a loan at our branch. If you applied for a loan using the USSD code or over the phone, the Loan Operator would advise you after the loan application has been completed as to why you did not qualify for a loan.

Once you have paid the outstanding balance, you can email your proof of payment to us on easypayloanqueries@lesakatech.com or alternatively you can take the proof of payment directly to an Easypay Everywhere branch for your payment to be allocated to your loan account.
